Annette Fabiani - The Champagne Princess

Two intrepid women, who assert themselves in a grandiose century, from the French Revolution to the World Exhibition in Paris in 1889

Barbe-Nicole Clicquot, known to every champagne connoisseur as Veuve Clicquot, lived through dramatic events: the French Revolution, the persecution of devout Catholics, the Napoleonic Wars, the occupation of her hometown of Reims by the Prussians and the Russians.
Widowed at a young age, she continues her late husband François‘ champagne business at a time when there are few women at the top of companies and trading houses, and turns it into a world empire. And when
Jeanne Pommery loses her beloved husband Alexandre in 1858, she is faced with the same decision as the widow Clicquot before her. Jeanne asks the old lady for advice and learns her adventurous life story.
And finally, Jeanne sets out to conquer new markets despite strong male competition in a relentless business world.

Gratifying news:

"The Champagne Princess“ will also be published in Spanish and Polish, the exact date has not yet been set.
